Getting Ready to go Camping

Today Dallon and I are getting ready to go to a family reunion for the weekend. We are going with my parents to Sun Lakes Washington. Dallon is really excited to go because he gets to go on a paddle boat, swimming, miniature golfing, and ride his four wheeler. While I was busy getting the food prepared and the kitchen clean, I told Dallon to go pick up the few toys he had in the living room so I could vacuum. Well, I found out that he is a true boy, because he doesn't have the best hearing. This is his idea of helping me:

As you can tell the mess got bigger and then cartoons came on.

Nap Time

Just when I was beginning to believe Dallon didn't think he needed naps anymore:
I guess the floor is more comfortable than his bed.

Sandbox Nightmares

So, I think the sandbox is taking over Dallon's mind. I know now that he eats and dreams about the sandbox. Last night, he had a nightmare that some one was taking his toys out of his sand box. He wasnt awake yet, but he was yelling No dont take my toys. He was also crying and screaming. Once I got him awake, I had to take him to see his sandbox and all the toys that were still in it. He was happy and went right back to sleep. He hasnt been to excited to play with it today, but he has played with it. Hopefully, tonight will go much better. I think we are both exhausted today.

Dream Sandbox

This morning when Dallon woke up, he sat straight up in bed and said, "Lets get up!!! I want to play in the sand." I tried to convince him that we should go back to bed, but he didn't want to. It was 7:30 so I was impressed that he slept in. He got up and went straight to the sandbox to play. He didnt want breakfast or to get dressed first. He did ask for the usual though. CHOCOLATE MILK!!! He played for about an hour and a half and then decided that he wanted to watch a movie for awhile. I guess I shouldn't complain cause it keeps him very busy and he does not make a mess.

Indoor Sand Box

This weekend Dallon got some new tractors and construction equipment. Well, he enjoys playing with them in Grandma and Grandpa's sand pile. It was really windy tonight so Grandma got a box and put some sand in it and brought it in the house for him. He sat there and played and played. Finally it was time to go home and he didnt want to leave. I told him that I was going to leave him there and he said "Leave me here." I was in shock. Well, maybe just in shock that he was actually listening to me. The only way that I got him to come home was to bring the sand box home with us. He is playing in it as I am typing this. He has been playing with it for an hour and a half so far. I might have to take it to bed with us in order to get him to go to bed.

See Daddy, we can have fun with the sand inside.

Getting Dressed Himself

Dallon decided to put his shorts and underwear on by himself. He would not listen to me that they were on backwards. He insisted they were on the right way. So I let him finish. Then he came out with his flip flops on and his hat and wanted to go outside to play. No way was I going with him looking like that. He turned them around because he really wanted to go outside and play. I guess three year olds have a mind of their own and they are always right.

Oh, and I guess the cookies were good. Dallon woke up from his nap wondering what I had done with them.

Baking Cookies

So Dallon has been wanting cookies. I was informed that I could not do the pre-mixed ones anymore. So this morning we went to the store to buy all the stuff to make chocolate chip cookies. Dallon is very excited but I was very worried that they won't turn out. If you don't know me to well, I really don't know how to cook. This is the first time that I have ever made chocolate chip cookies from scratch. Well, I got them all mixed up and they look alright. I have a batch in the oven for Dallon and my dad to try when he gets here. We will see!!!

Baby Clothes

This morning Dallon and I decided to get all of his old clothes out. I wanted to sort through them for the newborn clothes. This way I could get them washed and figure out what else I needed. I knew I needed some warm clothes since Dallon was born in the summer and this baby will be born in the winter. Well, I realized Dallon was very spoiled and didn't go without for clothes. Needless to say, I don't need to buy much for clothes. Dallon kept trying on the shoes to see if they would fit and had to look at all the clothes as I was going through them.

As for Dallon liking the baby, well, he loves the baby. He knows that the baby will come out at Christmas time and he can't wait. He continually rubs my belly and talks to the baby. He tells him goodnight every night and gives my tummy a kiss. It is so cute. Sometimes, he yells at the baby to wake up because he wants to feel him kick. And yes, he has felt it and his eyes got huge. So, I am not to concerned that Dallon will be jealous. I think he will be more help than anything. Oh and he will always keep me laughing with the phrases that come out of his mouth.

Story Time

Dallon had me laughing tonight. I don't know if any of you have heard of the book NO DAVID!! Anyways, the only words are no David and go to your rooom and things like that. Well, I read it to him once and then he decided he knew how to read. He read me the book over and over. Then, he convinced his grandma to do the same thing. He has so much expression in his face when he reads it. It just made me laugh. I thought I would share this funny little story with you.

Looks of Enjoyment

Today was a very good day. I really enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom today. I think everything is beginning to fall into place. Dallon and I did some house work this morning. And right before lunch, I decided to make him some brownies. I topped it with mini chocolate chips. He loves chocolate. When he noticed what was cooking he was excited. He ate all of his lunch and then had a brownie. And then, he looked at me and said he was ready for his nap. Boy was I shocked. He took his nap and woke up a happy little boy. Now, he is doing what he enjoys the most. He plays with his John Deere tractors all of the time. By the look on his face, you can tell he really enjoys them.

A Very Productive Day

Today, Dallon and I organized his room. We are slowly making room for his new little brother. This took almost all morning, but we got it done. I haven't decided if he was more help or making a bigger mess to clean up. He discovered toys that he hadn't seen in a while. It was okay though, we had fun.

After a much needed nap for both of us, Dallon decided he would color a picture. This helped him to work on learning his colors. Sometimes, I think he wonders if I know them. He asks me what colors they are just like I ask him.

Hoping To Fly

Today has been a very busy day. Everyone came to our house. My parents, sister and her boyfriend, and brother and his fiance. There was rearranging going on, wedding invitations being made, and lots of laundry being done. Oh, and we all got to eat!!!! Seems like I am always hungry. The baby must be growing.

Dallon and the baby got new dressers so their room would be more organized. So, while we were putting them in the room, Uncle Chris and Dallon decided they would fix Daddy's airplane and hope to fly it today. Good thing Daddy kept calling while they were doing it, because we werent sure where all the parts were. We found them all and the plane got fixed. Then what could get worse, the weather, so they didn't even get to try out the plane.

Dallon, also, decided he wanted to try on the baby's new bib. What can I say, he is just funny!!!! He thought he was pretty cute. I think he is starting to make his own fashion statement. I hope the baby likes it as much as he did.

Our Little Truck Driver

So I really miss Grandma Darlene and Grandpa Glen's farm in Grangeville. I really miss the days of riding in the grain truck and the combine. I have come to the conclusion that Dallon would be a permanent side kick if they still had the farm. Well, at least my dad still has the grain truck. Dallon has sure enjoyed riding it in the past couple of evenings. I guess he is getting braver, because he decided he could stand while his Grandpa was driving it. Gma and Gpa, I hope you enjoy this picture of Dad and Dallon.

Dallon is the Teacher

So today was my first day at being a stay at home mom without Rick being around. Since Rick went back to work yesterday, Dallon and I spent the morning get the house cleaned up. This is supposed to be the start to a schedule for Dallon and I. Ha Ha!!!!! Dallon decided he was going to help me with dishes. I think he made more of a mess of the bubbles, but hey it was the thought that counts.

After we got done with the dishes and his mess, I finished cleaning the house. He must have had enough with the chores. He had other ideas. I guess for a 3 year old, helping with the dishes is a big accomplishment. He decided it was time to play video games in his room.

I think he wants to see how far he can test my patience. Which today i do not have much. He woke me up at 6:00 am. After I got him back to sleep the baby decided it was time to kick for a while. I decided to just get up. When it came time for Dallon to pick up his toys, he really didn't want to. He decided to throw a fit and go to bed. This was at 10:30 this morning. But, I won the battle and Dallon picked up the toys.

So, I finally have him down for a nap. But, I have no schedule yet. I guess we will see how things progress. I have three weeks till Rick comes home. Hopefully there will be a schedule by then. I am open to suggestions!!!!!

Something New and Fun

So I decided to set up a blog page for all of our friends and family. This is for people to see pictures of Dallon and the new little boy to come. It will also allow for people to know what is going on with the kids. Since I am an at home mommy now, I will try to post to it frequently until the baby is born and then I will try to post at least every other day after the baby. I hope every one will enjoy this.
